Star Wars Armada - Part One
Painting of the fighters has begun. Initially just the TIE and X Wings from one of the core sets. Primed and ready to receive some colour. The TIE fighters will be a light grey with black wings/solar panel. cockpit and engine will also be worked on.
The X Wings will be a bone white, black cockpit hood, blue engines and possibly some type of colour code for each squadron. A wash will also be applied to both sets of fighters to give them that well used look.
The rebels also have a larger ship, the Liberty Class Cruiser.
A very nice paint job and shading too.
More fighters for both sides.
B Wings, A Wings etc. for the rebels.
Hans Solo and the Millennium Falcon are included in this pack, as well as some baddies for the Imperial Force.
A Frigate and transports for the rebels.
This is the third CR90 in the fleet.
Rebel transports which can be used to control swarms of fighters.
Not forgetting the Imperials, they get two pairs of Assault Carriers to help with the control of their fighters.
Nice sculpts throughout.
That, along with another core set, makes up both fleets so far. Plenty enough to have some interesting battles.
War of the Ring Board Game - Summer Painting Project - Part One
The summer project of painting all the War of the Rings figures, core set and both expansions is underway. All the mounted leaders and elites of the Free Peoples are primed and the blocking in of horse flesh is underway.
Elves are all mounted on grey horses
Gondor will all be on mounts of Dark Umber.
The rest of the figures are all hand primed, it seems there is a problem with the plastics if a spray paint is applied, leaving them sticky for months! So I went with good old Vallejo primer and a trusty brush.
This little lot is going to keep me busy for some time.
Warg riders sit atop of this pile.
The Nazgul await their turn.
Other evil nasties await the brush here.
This should be an enjoyable painting project, I have never painted fantasy figures before.

More for the summer painting table.
I am preparing the items that I hope to get painted over the summer. I do have the pieces for the board game War of the Rings to paint, almost 300 of them as well as the fighters from Star Wars Armada.
I also want to finish my 6mm ACW armies too. So some partially painted generals, flag bearers with Corps Flags will be worked on.
I am also a bit light on cavalry, so a few horse holders.
Dismounted cavalry and casualties.
A whole box full of primed casualty figures.
On to 28mm, with enough troops hopefully, to create a Crusader army of the Second Crusade. These boxes have sat on my shelf for nearly two years.
I do already have an army of Saracens led by Saladin, so they will finally get someone to fight.
I shall base them in the same fashion, in fours, twos and singles. It will allow me to use many rule sets.
Not a huge army, but big enough for my needs, I only need to add a metal miniature of Richard the Lionheart.
