A test game of The Pikeman's Lament.

Major, the honourable Thomas Ignacious Trimble, (don't mention his initials) is commanding his company on behalf of his majesty King Charles I, against the forces of Parliament. The son of a wealthy land owner, he rolled a seven on the Officer Traits table, giving him the trait of Brave, allowing him to add a +2 on all morale rolls, instead of +1.

His company comprises:


Captain Barker's Troop.

Captain Sullivan's Troop.

Captain Foulston's Dragoons.

Trimble's Pike.

Trimble's Shot.

Captain Spencer's Shot.

Major Adam Thorpe is a veteran of the Thirty Years War, he has worked his way up through the ranks. He threw a six on the Officer Traits table, allotting him the trait of brutal, Any units within 12 inches of him automatically pass failed rally tests, sacrificing one mini from the unit.

His company comprises:

Captain Garnett's Troop.

1st Troop Captain Okey's Dragoons.

2nd Troop, Captain Okey's Dragoons.

Forlorn Hope.

Clan McGregor.

Clan Douglas.

I have chosen not give any units upgrades etc. for this first test battle. Each Company is exactly 24 points in strength.

I don't have a lot of 28mm terrain with me, so the battlefield will have to be simple, but I will include fields, hills and trees. Photos and a batrep will follow.
